What is your favorite local business to support?
Here on Oahu, I enjoy buying from Farmlink Hawaii - they are an online marketplace where you can order produce and goods directly from local farmers and suppliers and choose delivery or pick up for your order. I love supporting them because of their mission and the whole experience it provides me. My friend owns the local business Banan, where I pick up my farm box and I love the opportunity to support them and get a local treat when I go to pick up my produce.
My personal sustainability story began when...
I grew up in a conservation focused household. We saved everything and created low waste. This was more for finances than to help save the planet at that time. When I was in high school, I watched The Inconvenient Truth which shed light on how big the issues facing our planet are and motivated me to get involved in creating solutions.
For sustainability inspo, I follow @______
I love following @plantifulsoul on Instagram for inspiration! She’s plant-based and lives an eco-friendly lifestyle on Kauai.
What is one single-use plastic item you choose to forego?
Plastic water bottle. I would rather go thirsty temporarily than support this single-use habit.
What is one item that is usually in single-use packaging that you can't live without?
Tofu - This is a major food staple for me and can’t find packaging that is not plastic. Business opportunity anyone? :)
If everyone could just _______, I think that we could change the world.
Eat more plant based.
